  • Biography

    Laura P. Richardson, MD, MPH, is Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Director of Research for the Division of Adolescent Medicine, and an Investigator at the Seattle Children's Research Institute Center for Child Health, Behavior, and Development.

    I received my MD and completed a combined Pediatrics/Internal Medicine residency at the University of Michigan. I completed an Adolescent Medicine Fellowship and a Master's of Public Health in Epidemiology at the University of Washington. I joined the faculty as a clinician scientist in 2001. I currently serve as the Director of Research for the Division of Adolescent Medicine and Direct the University of Washington Leadership Education in Adolescent Health training program in addition to conducting research and coaching and mentoring many junior faculty.

    My research focuses on better understanding interactions between mental and physical health in adolescents, behavioral health screening, integrated behavioral health care to improve outcomes for behavioral health concerns in medical settings, and suicide prevention.
