We specialize in meeting the unique needs of children and families during medical emergencies.
Children's Emergency Department is dedicated to caring for babies, children, teens and young adults. All of our doctors have extensive experience providing state-of-the-art care especially for young patients. A lead doctor, called an attending doctor, is in our Emergency Department 24 hours a day, every day. Children's attending doctors have completed years of special training in caring for children during medical emergencies and have earned board certification in pediatric emergency medicine. We have round-the-clock access to Children's experts in more than 20 pediatric specialties and to the full facilities of our hospital. This allows us to provide complete, coordinated care for your child in one location.
Our team recognizes how stressful illness or injury can be, not only to your child but also to your family. You know your child best, so we will include you as we assess and treat your child. In addition to doctors and nurses, our team includes social workers and child life specialists to help you during your child's emergency. Our goal is to provide the highest level of care and caring during an unplanned and often stressful experience.
