FAQs

  • What is MyChart?

MyChart is a free, secure way for patients and legal guardians to access portions of the electronic medical record from any device connected to the Internet.

  • Who is eligible for MyChart?

MyChart is available to patients 13 years and older, and to legal guardians of patients who have been treated by a Richmond Pediatrics provider.

We also offer MyChart to foster parents and biological parents of patients in foster care.

  • I already have a MyChart account at another healthcare site. Is that the same?

No. MyChart is an online tool used by many healthcare systems, but each requires its own registration and has separate MyChart systems. Your Richmond Pediatrics and Seattle Children’s MyChart accounts are the same. Once you have activated your Richmond Pediatrics or Seattle Children’s MyChart account, you can connect your account with other participating organizations to bring all your information in one place by going to "Link My Accounts". This includes pulling information such as allergies, health history, medications, messages, test results, appointments and care team members.

If you are a proxy for the patient (adults in our records who are the legal guardian of a patient), it is required that you are also a proxy for the same patient at the other participating organization. You can identify that you are a proxy quickly by logging into MyChart and seeing if you have the desired patient listed in the top right dropdown menu under your name.

  • What can I do in MyChart?

The type of access you will have in MyChart depends on the patient’s age.

    • Patients 13 years or older with their own MyChart account:
      • Patients ages 13–17: Manage upcoming appointments, conduct telehealth visits, message providers, complete questionnaires
      • Patients ages 18 and older: Manage upcoming and past appointments, conduct telehealth visits, sign consents, message providers, complete questionnaires, see test results, view medication list, read visit summaries and provider notes, pay bills
    • Adults in our records who are legal guardians of the patient:
      • Accessing patients under 13: Manage upcoming and past appointments, conduct telehealth visits, sign consents, message providers, complete questionnaires, see test results, view medication list, read visit summaries and provider notes, pay bills**
      • For patients ages 13–17: Manage upcoming appointments, conduct telehealth visits, sign consents, message providers, complete questionnaires, pay bills**
    • Adults in our records who are foster parents or biological parents of foster patients:
      • Manage upcoming appointments, conduct telehealth visits, message providers

** One adult per patient will have access to pay bills. This is determined by who was added to our system as the guarantor, or person responsible for bills.
